The 4th version of
Digg has been rolled out with several major changes in the design, front-page algorithm, and social components.
The social news site has somehow transform into some sort of Twitter-like streaming of news and links.
Since 2004, Digg has been a major source of breaking news and stories
for me — ranging from the oddest, funniest, and most informative
collection of stories. However, thru the years, it has been invaded by
power-users and power-groups that dominated majority of what comes out
in the front-page.
It somewhat lost it relevance so the 4th version of Digg is trying to
fix that. The addition of Publisher Streams and My News (personalized
news depending on who you follow) has been inspired by Twitter.
I rarely use it nowadays but the roll out of Digg 4 looks promising I might give it a second try. You can also follow me on
Digg here.
