While Acer has only introduced a handful of
Android phones in the Philippines just last week, another one has been outed that resembled the genes of the Acer Android line-up — the
Acer Liquid Metal.
It has almost the same specs as the Acer Liquid E with a very minor upgrade, if you can call it that.
Acer Liquid Metal3.6″ capacitive touchscreen @ 480×800 pixels
Qualcomm MSM 7230 800MHz processor
512 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM
up to 32GB via microSD
HSDPA 14.4Mbps, HSUPA 2Mbps
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, UPnP
Bluetooth 2.1 w/ A2DP
5MP autofocus camera with LED flash
720p HD video recording @ 30fps
GPS w/ aGPS support
Li-IOn battery 1500mAh
Just slightly larger and faster than it’s predecessor, the Liquid E, the Liquid Metal’s design did not really depart from the original one. The handset will come with Android 2.2 Froyo pre-installed and will have the Acer UI 4.0 Breeze layer on top of it.
We might be seeing this handset by December or early next year, depending on how the reception of the Liquid E is in the local market. As for pricing, expect it to be near or a little over the Liquid E’s 24k price tag.
