So I looked at how Globe does their capping for unlimited mobile
internet (
SuperSurf) and found out that their Fair Use Policy
has a somewhat similar strategy. Though this time, it’s 800MB per day.
Was wondering at first why they did it on a daily basis instead of
monthly then realized that there’s no 30-day SuperSurf for prepaid (just
for postpaid).
An 800MB daily cap translates to 24GB per month (30 days) so that
seems reasonable. I guess their tagline “Walang Metro” only applies to
the time-based not not really the bandwidth.
However, unlike Smart’s Fair Use Policy which throttles you down to a
slower speed, Globe’s SuperSurf will totally disconnect you to their
network when you reach the daily limit. You can go back and surf again
the following day, when your 800MB quota will be refreshed.
