PostSubject: Lenovo IdeaPad U260 first impressions   Sun Mar 13, 2011 10:30 am

First revealed back in December 2010, the Lenovo IdeaPad U260
is the first ultraportable to have an odd 12.5″ display screen not seen
anywhere else. And though Lenovo also has their own line-up for the
11.6″ form factor, I think the 12.5″ is a special distinction for their
more premium models.

The IdeaPad U260 packs an ultra-mobile processor, an Intel Core i5 470UM,
running at a base of 1.33GHz but can Turbo Boost up to 1.86GHz (with 2
cores and 4 threads). Not bad for a thin and light laptop like this one.

Intel Core i5-470 UM @ 1.33 GHz (2 Cores, 4 Threads, Turbo Boost 1.86GHz)
Inel HD Graphics
4GB DDR3 RAM
320GB SATA HDD
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 2.1
HDMI port
2 x USB 2.0 port
GigaBit LAN
0.3MP webcam
Windows 7 Home Premium
4-cell Li-Po battery

Itís got that sleek look and a slim form factor that also very light
(looks thinner and feels lighter than most 10-inch netbooks around, IMO)
ó just 0.71″ thin and weighs only 3.04lbs. Great matte finish all
around with a bit of an edgy design in golden brown color.

The interiors are also classy with the entire palm-rests all covered
in black, leather-like padding. As with most ultraportable, the unit
does not come with any optical drive. The signature Lenovo keyboard
design is present and the position of the Ctrl and Fn keys are in the
preferred order.

SUggested retail price for the Core i5 model is Php51,990 while the Core i3 variant is at Php44,990. Both are available in mocha brown and clementine orange colors.
