So we also got the chance to check out the
Nokia E6 yesterday, the successor of the Nokia E72 but now comes with the more
improved Symbian Anna. The least I can say is that it’s an impressive
combo.
The Nokia E6 inherits the same form factor as the popular E71 and E72
but this time, it also comes with a touch screen which makes some
aspects of navigation easier and more intuitive.
The specs aren’t that much except for a few improvements over the E72
like a bigger megapixel camera, internal storage, HD video recording
and graphics hardware accelerator. At first look, the unit looks like
one of those BB phones, only slimmer with a more rounder corners and a
bit heavier due to the metallic construction.
Nokia E6 specs:
2.46″ touch display @ 640×480 pixels
8GB internal storage
256 MB RAM, 1GB ROM
up to 32GB microSD
HSDPA 10.2Mbps, HSUPA 2.0Mbps
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 3.0 w/ A2DP
USB On-the-go support
8MP fixed-focus w/ dual-LED flash
720p@25fps video recording
600MHz ARM 11 processor
2D/3D Graphics HW Accelerator with OpenVG1.1 and OpenGL ES 2.0
FM Radio tuner
Li-Ion 1500 mAh
The most interesting feature is the new and improved Symbian Anna.
The OS is spiffy, very responsive and cleaned up compared to the
previous Symbian variants. Even the UI is more intuitive with widgets
you can customize along 3 home screens.
The Nokia E6 could be out before the end of the 3rd quarter
(definitely not this June) and will have a retail price int he vicinity
of the E72 SRP.
