Asus claims their
Cine5 soundbar is the world’s most
compact 5-channel speaker and by the looks of it, sounds like it has
some truth to it. Go take a closer look at the
Asus Cine5 after the jump.
Announced back in March, this is probably the first speaker system I’ve ever seen coming out of Asus’ doors.
The Asus Cine5 is actually just a single unit with multiple drivers
and comes in a curvy, glossy-black design. The front grills are covered
in fine, dark acoustic fabric while two hollow tubes are positioned at
both ends of the unit (probably to help create that deep bass).
The speaker has a total power output of 15 watts (RMS) with a
frequency response between 80~20Khz. The 3.5mm jack is found at the
back, along with a dedicate heaphone jack and 3 more audio ports to
extend the system to more speakers (front, center-sub, rear). The unit
comes with a set of 4 metal and 4 rubber stands that screws into the
base.
The Cine5 looked really nice but that doesn’t end there — the sound
quality is pretty good, great volume range that does not seem to distort
even when you crank the dial to the top with decent enough bass (not
really a deep bass but significantly noticeable). The surround-sound
effect (actually it’s just multi-directional) is evident in smaller
rooms but you don’t feel it when used in open spaces or larger rooms.
Still don’t have info on local pricing but I’m sure this won’t go cheap.
