So we got our hands on the new
MSI WindPad W100, one
of the very few Windows 7 based tablets. With traditional tablets of
this kind, expect a combo of an Intel chip and Win7 to cater to a
specific market or niche.
The
WindPad W100 really looks and feels like a
netbook cut into half, leaving out the keyboard. The device is a little
thick on the side too, probably due to the limitations of the chip
sizes.

Intel Menlow Processor Z530 @ 1.6GHz
2GB DDR2 RAM
32GB SSD
Windows 7 Home Premium
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Webcam
USB 2.0 port
SDHC Card Reader
Mini HDMI Port
There are actually two cameras here — one at the back and one in
front. The mini HDMI port allows you to plug it to an external display
like a TV or monitor. Interestingly, there’s a SIM card slot as well but
I don’t know if there’s a modem installed inside or just an optional
slot for future upgrade.
The
MSI WindPad W100 is being sold at VillMan for a suggested retail price of Php29,995. Full review to come out next week.
