I had the
HP Mini 311 for about a year before it was bought by a friend. I loved its design
but wanted something better than what Atom can offer. If only HP could
do a Core 2 Duo or Athlon Neo version. Turns out the
HP Pavilion dm1 is the one.
HP Pavilion dm1 specs:
11.6” HD LED @ 1366×768 pixels
AMD Athlon II Neo Dual-Core K325 (1.3GHz, 2MB L2)
ATI Mobility Radeon HD4225 Graphics
3GB DDR3 800MHz (Max 5GB)
320GB SATA HDD 7200rpm
External Super Multi DVD+/-RW DL Drive
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
0.3MP webcam
Card Reader
1 x HDMI port
3 x USB ports
6-cell Li-Ion battery
Th unit weighs a bit heavy at 1.47kg and the 6-cell battery promises
up to 5 hours on a single charge (though I doubt it can do 4 hours in
real world situations).
The unit comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and MS Office
Starter 2010. The HP Pavilion dm1 is not widely available locally but
gray market prices puts it at Php38,000. Yeah, quite expensive but I
remember getting my HP Mini 311 for Php31,000 before.
